22-JAN-2025 - Australian Classification Board (ACB) Data Now Live in the OverDrive APIs
Dear OverDrive API partner,
As a follow-up to our previous message, Australian Classifications Board (ACB) title classifications have been added to our production Metadata API.
Though ACB classifications will appear in responses for all libraries, they’re required to be displayed only for API implementations that allow borrowing from Australian libraries. We recommend displaying the classification on the title’s details page. For more information on how to display these classifications, please see the ACB website.
If a title has been classified by the ACB, you’ll see the acb field under classifications in the Metadata response. This field includes:
- The title’s classification.
- An image of the classification you can display on the title’s details page.
- A link to the title’s page on the ACB’s website. You do not need to display this link to end users.
If a title hasn’t been classified by the ACB, this field will be empty and you don’t need to display anything for that title.
