Windows Media Formats Removed - 19-MAY-2015
OverDrive API Partners,
We want to confirm that we’re ending support for all Windows Media formats (WMA audiobooks, music, and WMV videos) on 19-MAY-2015.
Starting on this date, checkouts and holds for these formats will no longer be supported, and any titles (products) that don’t have an alternate format available will be removed from our partners’ collections.
All existing holds on these titles will be canceled on 19-MAY-2015, and affected users will be notified via email.
If a user has borrowed a title in the WMA/WMV format prior to the sunset date, they’ll still have access to the title until the end of their lending period or 30-JUNE-2015, whichever occurs sooner. On 30-JUNE-2015, any title(s) in Windows Media format(s) that are still checked out to users will be removed from their library accounts.
For more information about how titles appear in the OverDrive APIs when they’re no longer owned by a collection, see our documentation on the Metadata API.
You can find more information about the WMA/WMV sunset here or our original announcement to OverDrive API partners here.
Thanks for your continued partnership.
