17-SEP-2025 - Hold Suspension Changes Now Live

Dear OverDrive API partner,

Our hold suspension changes are now live in production. Users no longer set an end date when suspending a hold. Instead, they must manually unsuspend holds when they’re ready for them. If a hold is suspended for 365 consecutive days, it will be cancelled.

All currently suspended holds have been updated to the new behavior and will be cancelled in 365 days if the user doesn’t interact with them.
